Acer Bloodgood:

Bomb Queen II, Queen of Hearts + Project Eon

Bomb Queen II, Queen of Hearts

Jimmie Robinson’s briskly hilarious psychopath tart Bomb Queen gets a second limited series in this title that features unmentionable plot twists and vicious revenge tactics. Seduced by a man who satisfies BQ’s lusty desires, Bomb Queen opens herself up to a nasty double-cross.

Bomb Queen’s assertive sexuality and absurdist hijinks make this book a vital and refreshing antidote to the automated narrative strategies typically deployed to satisfy the average fanboy comic book reader. Queen of Hearts tells us more about Bomb Queen’s origin story and provides some additional details about her support team, the Occularium and Ashe the cat.

Project Eon

Cameron Williams grew up with special powers resulting from a top secret “bio-military” genetic experiment shortly after his birth. At age 19, he must suddenly deal with the aftermath when shadowy forces related to the decades-old experiment reinsert themselves into Cameron’s life. Seeking to extract his DNA for various nefarious purposes, the bad guys build narrative momentum by beating up his girlfriend and kidnapping his parents instead of going after Cameron directly.

Fortunately for him, a previously unknown ally leaps to Cameron’s side to explain what’s going on and trick out the hero with a suitable costume. Will Cameron be able to overcome the dastardly foes?

Acer Bloodgood is the pen name of a longtime ComicBase writer acquired from a family of maple trees. There is some worry that this sobriquet is “too goth-weenie.” For the record, Acer grew up in California’s suburban sprawl and now lives in San Francisco where he whiles the nights away in dingy dive bars. He drinks whisky with seltzer and lemon.
