Tales of the Teen Titans

In April 1984, the successful of Wolfman and Perez’s New Teen Titans was re-launched in Prestige Baxter format as New Teen Titans (2nd Series). DC continued the New Teen Titans (1st Series) as Tales of the Teen Titans with issue 41 after the historical retirement of Wally West as Kid Flash and Dick Grayson as Robin. Immediately following the title change, Wolfman and Perez told one of the most profound stories in comics' history, “The Judas Contract,” which saw the betrayal of Terra and the introduction of Dick Grayson as Nightwing.

Shortly after Tales of the Teen Titans was launched, Perez left the books and fan interest waned. To allow readers who did not have access to the Comic Shop only Baxter edition New Teen Titans (2nd Series), New Teen Titans (2nd Series), Tales of the Teen Titans began reprinting the Baxter series with issue 59 until cancellation in issue 91.
