THE SUPER-SCARY MONSTER SHOW

An alien would-be conqueror picks the wrong house from which to begin his assault on Earth, landing in the backyard of the young girl known as Little Gloomy. How do you scare someone who spends her entire life under threat of pain and death? Then, “Frank,” who could also be called Little Frankenstein, tries to take revenge on his tormentors—only to invent a brand new problem. And, a nerdy alien lies to his family about conquering Earth… only to find he’s going to have to turn the lie into the truth.

This title presents a collection of short stories featuring the deadpan humor of Little Gloomy and her various friends and foes. Landry Quinn Walker and Eric Jones collaborate on each black and white adventure, in which quirky art (sort of like an evil Peanuts) and sharp wit abound.

THE HORROR SHOW

Monsters, zombies, and werewolves, oh my! These are just a few of the creatures on the rampage in these short stories, in which it’s hard to blame ordinary folks for going slightly insane.

In one tale, a pair of soldiers lose their cool at the madness they see. In another, a man under the curse of the blood clan lives a nightmarish existence. In a third, a woman can’t remember a time where she said hello or goodbye in any manner that didn’t involve a bullet between the eyes.

Each page of this fittingly named title is awash with blood, gore, and death. The writing is dark, the art even darker. A variety of creators contributed to the book, so warm a cup of blood and enjoy their efforts.
