Mike is a promising young drama major and playwright. When Mike is obligated to take his young cousin to a professional wrestling match, at first he’s disgusted by the idea of a staged sporting event. But as the match goes on, he finds himself appreciating the spectacle as a work of art, a dramatic plot punctuated by very real physical ability.

Mike becomes obsessed with the art of professional wresting and soon is looking to become a wrestler himself. But how will his friends and family react to his new career? And does Mike have what it takes to break into the wrestling world? Written by Michael Kingston with art by Randy Valiente, Headlocked is the story of a young man following his dream, no matter what obstacles stand in his way.

Jennifer grew up in an almost-rural part of California and is currently living in the metropolis of Portland. She knows how to fish without bait, find magnetic north, shoot a bow and arrow, and slaughter small animals, but very rarely does any of it.

Jennifer’s favorite comics include PS 238, She-Hulk, Usagi Yojimbo, Fables, and Impulse.
