Due to technical issues (in particular, the rapid approach of a pair of year and title limits that nobody — even us — thought we’d ever reach when we created the first version of ComicBase way back in 1992), you’ll need to upgrade to ComicBase 14.1 or later in order to receive updates and work with the ever-increasing number of titles in ComicBase.

Current ComicBase 14 users can use the updaters below to update to ComicBase 14.1.

If you‘re using an older version of ComicBase, and have a current subscription, you can download ComicBase 14 for free directly from your Registrations page.

The above updates require a previous full install of ComicBase 14 to function. If you’re using a version earlier than ComicBase 14, download the full installer (or renew/upgrade) using the links on the Registrations page before using these updaters.

To install:

Exit ComicBase if open, then download and run the appropriate updater for your edition of ComicBase above.

If you installed ComicBase in a location other than the default ([Program Files]\Human Computing\ComicBase 14), make sure you change the install location to the location where you’ve installed your current copy of ComicBase.

Changes from ComicBase 14.0.2:

Solves a “Runtime Error #6/Overflow” error which could occur in databases which contain more than 32,767 different comic titles.
Allows ComicBase to work with titles whose “years published” extends past 2009
Allows you to work in an “Offline” mode so that clicking on issues with the Atomic Avenue tab selected won’t result in connection errors (after the first such problem, it automatically switches to Offline until you click to go online again).
Solves a potential cause of error messages when upgrading from the old “Ice Blue” theme (“Method ~ of ~ was not found”)
Fixes receipt printing on Batch > Sell Comics
Fixes the issue of unwanted rounding on Batch > Sell Comics when no discount was in place.
Added a bit more slack to the margins of Price Labels printed without pictures to help those who had trouble printing label sheets where the tolerances were too tight.
Adding Issues to Inventory using Batch now correctly uses Cover Price as the basis if a global discount is chosen, instead of value, unless no cover price exists.
Allows you to select a different printer at report time when printing labels and reports.
